New Entrance Fees for Visitors to Argentina

Argentina’s Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo announced in a recent press release that starting January 1st, 2009, new entrance fees will be applied to those visiting Argentina.

Foreigners entering Argentina will be charged similar amounts to what Argentines are charged for a comparable visa.

The main countries affected by the new visa charges are Australia, the United States, and Canada. Randazzo states, “Argentine citizens visiting the United States must pay a visa of 134 dollars, while US citizens visiting Argentina may enter the country for 90 days free of charge.”

He went on to say, “This is an act of justice. The fee is reciprocal; it is not restrictive in nature, not at all.”
