Health and Wellness in Buenos Aires

Okay… now that I have shared with you my sweet tooth (see the previous entry on Sugar & Spice) it’s time you see my other side. The health and wellness aspect. After all, everything in moderation!

I am a firm believer in using alternative, holistic approaches to treating our bodies many ailments. That is why I was excited to come across Oleada, a project in the works thanks to Kara Bauer. Kara is a determined businesswoman who also happens to be certified in alternative medicine. She, along with two business partners are working to create what I believe will be the first “wellness center” in Argentina.

For those living abroad this often means internet work, such as writing, copywriting, editing, programming and graphic design, to name a few. But what about expats who have found work in the country they are living, those who are partaking in the literal commute as opposed to the virtual, and working to pump the local economy?

Tourism Incentive Plan Exciting News

Fernandez is making an attempt to boost Argentina’s tourism industry with nearly 300 million pesos in loans. 340 hotels and 140 tourist agencies are partaking in the plan. The loans are interest-free for either three or six months, and will be available until April of 2009.
