The Gringo has found a home away from home in Buenos Aires at the Home Hotel.
The first thing that impressed me right off the bat was the attitude of the staff. They were helpful, considerate, knowledgeable and friendly. It felt as if they genuinely wanted to help out. If you’re not sure what exactly you want to see or do in Buenos Aires, just ask. The staff is more than happy to suggest something to do or somewhere to eat.
The Home Hotel is located in Palmero, but not in the center of activity. It isn’t dangerous to
walk around in, but it can get rough in a few parts, and it is kind of out of the way. Irregardless, it is still only a couple of blocks from a dozen great restaurants and cafes. It is a bit further from shopping, around a 15 minute walk, or a short cab ride away. I don’t mind taking cabs to see the sights, and I prefer to be a little more distant from the hustle and bustle so I can enjoy the quiet evening if I want. That is part of what makes the Home hotel perfect for me.
The atmosphere at the Home Hotel is fun and chic, but not in a snobby sort of way that puts you off. The decor is awesome throughout the hotel, and the rooms are quite comfortable. The Home hotel makes you feel like you could hang out there all day and have a fantastic time rather than just aim to spend the whole day out and come back to sleep.
Make sure and make time to laze by the pool, and if you really want to treat yourself, make the time for a visit to the Home Spa… they take extra good care of you.
