As far as places to stay in Mendoza goes, the Bohemia Hotel Boutique gets a lot of praise, and its easy to see why. The Bohemia is actually an old house that has been converted into a full service bed and breakfast/hotel.
Located in a quiet little neighborhood, just a short walk from the center of town, the 
Bohemia is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, cozy place to stay. There are only 9 rooms, and so everything is close together, and has more of a ‘staying with the best family ever’ feel. The rooms are nicely sized and very comfortably decorated.
The staff is excellent, very kind and very helpful when it comes to getting around Mendoza. They can help with arranging tours of the Wine regions, or hiring English speaking drivers to show you around to different parts of the city.
Especially wonderful are the meals, cooked by Emir, the owner, who also happens to be a chef. Meals are reasonably priced, and Emir cooks a variety of traditional Argentine cuisine, as well as gourmet French and Italian foods. Never missing from the table is the perfect bottle of wine to match the meal, straight from one of Mendoza’s many fantastic wineries. (A 3 course meal for about 60 pesos… you can’t beat that!)
Emir speaks perfect New Jersey style English, and is always happy and ready to help make sure you get the best of Argentina, the best of Mendoza, and the best of his hotel. Although I am not a cook, I heard some of the other guests had success with getting little mini cooking lessons while staying at the Bohemia.
Overall, unless what you are looking for is a large, commercial hotel where you don’t have to relate on a personal level with anyone, then the Bohemia is what you want. Comfy, and yet professional, friendly and fun, but not invasive, and all for a great price. (And they have a nice small swimming pool!
