Stay at a Farm in the Andean Mountain Chain

It doesn’t sound that glorious… staying at a farm tucked into one of the valleys of the Andes Mountain Range, but at the Finca Arco Iris Fincaarcoiris mendozayou get to truly experience the beauty of the Mendoza region.

The Finca Arco Iris (The Rainbow Farm, in English) is located about two hours away from Mendoza City. While the city is fun, and the tours of the area are great, it is at the farm where one can finally relax and just enjoy the magnificent scenery, as well as the simplicity of live in Mendoza.

There are 3 comfortable bedrooms at the lodge with queen size beds, and one room with two double beds. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom. There is also satellite TV, internet, international phone service, and a really nice pool. There is also a cabin located about 1500 meters from the house which holds 4 people. It has two rooms and a bathroom and kitchen.

Staying at the main house includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, all served with the house wine. Access to mountain bikes, camping gear, bird watching equipment, and more. If you stay at the guest house you have access to the horses, but it is not part of the bed and breakfast, so you have to bring your own food!

The owner, Giulio Nerati Foscarini brings his love of fly fishing to the farm; guests are invited to go horseback riding, fly fishing, mountain biking and Double room arco iris mendozasite-seeing, and of course visits to local wineries. He and his wife Pia run the Finca Arco Iris, which is both a lodge and a gentlemen’s farm, meaning it is small farm, more for hobby purposes, and this one has horses!

Since the farm is 90 miles from Mendoza, they arrange transportation services down from the City for their guests.

The food is incredible, and the farm has it’s own wine cellar, with Argentine and Chilean wine available. You can’t go wrong with this private, comfortable, bed and breakfast.

One night at the farm will set you back about 150 if you are staying at the house including food, and about 100 if you are at the cabin. For the most up to date prices or to make reservations, visit www.fincaarcoiris.com or call +54 11 5277–0107. Giulio speaks English, Spanish and French.

The address is Ruta Naci.40 Km. 147 – San Carlos.
