If you are sick of steak (if that is even possible) or if you want to try steak on pizza, then head to the MOON resto-bar (restaurant bar) on Aristedes Villanueva and
check out the gourmet pizzas that Dario is serving up.
Flavors range all over the place, and the creations he makes get raved about by even the most fanatical, “it’s not a pizza, it’s a pie!” New Yorkers. I am always a fan of chicken on pizza, so the BBQ Chicken, although a little more standard, is a good place to start. If you are into the seafood try a Chardonnay shrimp pizza, and if you are feeling brave then go for the pear and blue cheese combo… I don’t think I have ever seen that on any menu…. ever.
Even if you aren’t in the area for the pizza (the Aristedes Villanueva strip is famous for its popular bars and nightlife) you will want to stop by the MOON bar and ask for Dario. Born in Mendoza, but having spent 30 years in the states (Laguna Beach) he is more than happy to chat with passing tourists about what there is to do around the city. My guess is after an hour of chatting, you’ll have worked up the appetite for some pizza.
Only a couple of months into business (the first pizza was served Jan 16, 2009), the place adds a bit of excitement and variety to dining out in Mendoza.
Pizzas are less than $10, so stop in at MOON resto-bar on Aristedes Villanueva 257 and get yourself a pie.
