Mark's Deli – New York Style Deli in Palmero Viejo

Mark’s Deli & Coffee House is perhaps Buenos Aires’ most successful attempt at a typical New York Deli, which makes it one of my favorite places to stop for some to grab a bite to eat Marks deli palmeroand people watch.

In the morning I particularly like the muffins – they large, traditional muffins from my point of view, and the perfect accompaniment for my morning cup of coffee.

Mark’s Deli is located in the Palmero Viejo district, at El Salvador 4701 & Armenia, making it an ideal place for shoppers in this trendy district. It is open 8:30 am – 9:30 pm Monday to Saturday and 10:30 am to 9:00 pm Sundays and Holidays.

The joint opened in the summer of 2002, and is recognized as the first of its kind (deli and coffee house, sandwich and bagel joint) in Buenos Aires, although nowadays they are practically a dime a dozen.

Mark’s Deli (owned and operated by Marcos Mantecon) offers its full menu all day long, meaning you can get delicious muffins, cookies, brownies, soups, salads and biscotti’s from early morning to early evening. If you are there for lunch, may I suggest #15 on the sandwich menu: it is a blend of turkey, mozzarella, tomato, spinach and guacamole… very good.

Oh! And don’t forget your laptop; if you are looking for Free Wi-Fi internet, Mark’s Deli is the place in Buenos Aires.
